“The feeling or belief that one can have faith in or rely on someone or something” is defined as confidence by the Oxford dictionary.

Have you ever been in a meeting and felt that speaking your take on the topic is a dumb idea? Have you ever felt left out of a conversation that you’re a part of? Has it ever happened that you have an opinion, but couldn’t voice it? Do you get all jittery before initiating a chat? Have you ever entered a room full of people to notice yourself slouching?

If any of the above questions translate into a positive answer, then you are in the right place. I’ve started this blog as a place for all to learn new ways and techniques to imbibe the confidence that we lack very often, cuz let’s be honest we’ve all been there, at some point we’ve felt the need of a boost to pump us up and get in the game.

It’s easy, confidence is having faith.

Every day, when you wake up, either you’re looking forward to achieving some predefined goal. Or you wake up with absolutely no goal! Rushing ourselves to work, without an ambition maybe. The latter is what eats up your confidence gradually, which eventually turns one into an under-confident fellow, but that’s just one case. Hence, we have our number 1 on the list- the thoughts, control them! Thoughts influence every minute of the day.

For starters watch your thoughts. Think of a repulsive negative thought- XYZ occurring in your mind. Now remember this thought is going to hinder your growing self esteem.

Imagine you are sitting in your car. You see the thought XYZ in the form of a heavy cloud. Sitting inside your car, you close your eyes, wait, and let it pass. See it leaving your sight until it vanishes. Every time you see a thought capable of pulling you down, breathe, and let it go.

Now let’s divulge into a story. Once upon a time, there was a young school-girl. She was bullied by her classmates for the way she looked and the weight on the scale. Naturally, her confidence drops down to zilch; she wouldn’t talk to anybody. this girl was me. Soon I found myself with so many clouds following me! Unknowingly I stumbled upon a way out. This eventually led to the disappearing of the clouds. I got into watching Youtube vigorously! By the time I reached high school, I was acing at debate competitions and theatre.

The power of social media. Youtube and also Instagram are the deal-breakers to learn anything on the face of the planet. Watch people talk, hear them, take notes of their voice modulations, their expressions, how real or how filtered they are, and to what extent. Learn things that interest you, experiment with learning things that you’ve never even heard of! You might like it. Watch famous vloggers, people catering their travels across the world. Its a treat with learning how to speak up effortlessly.

Hopping onto Appearances. We know they can be deceptive, but why not use the best of that? No, we don’t mean to change the way you are, oh! That’ll steal the charm. The key here is the posture.

Long story short, one colossal development that changed things for me is one exercise: keeping the spine straight! Sit with the back straight and stand with the back tall. This will make you look like a more confident person, even when you are nothing close to it.

Just the idea of looking confident will push you to walk on the track of great self-esteem.

You might be thinking that by just making these 3 small adjustments, how will you regain confidence?

I assure you. Do it for a couple of days without fail, you’ll feel empowered. These exercises will help you kickstart your walk on the path of self-confidence.

Do tell me how it worked for you and we’ll get back together to discuss more.

Hope to see you in the next blog.

Have a great and growth-filled day!
